- Owing to the unsightly nature of mechanical and electrical pipes and cables, it’s normal practice for these to be housed within vertical riser ducts.
- The positioning of vertical riser ducts is essential to minimise the length of pipe and cable runs to keep costs to a minimum.
Whilst there is no risk of a person falling through small gaps, dropped tools can cause potential hazards to people and equipment below.
GripClad® GRP Grating has lower installation costs than steel and can be up to 80% lighter. This means that the material can be easily handled with no special lifting gear throughout the site and manually handled into position. It is easy to cut, and non-sparking so there is no need for hot work permits. This allows adjustments on-site achieving a high level of precision in a fraction of the time.
Using GripClad® GRP Grating can also be installed considerably faster than traditional steel systems, cutting down labour time and costs.
GripClad® GRP Grating is non-conductive and does not require earthing, meaning that the risk of electrical hazards on site is eliminated. It allows for easy adaptation to suit services passing through floors and can be manually handled around the site.
