Great Britain guarantees at least one thing…that our winters are increasingly cold, wet, and icy. The unpredictable nature of the great outdoors makes the risk of slip accidents outdoors much greater than indoors.
Wet weather isn’t the only cause of outdoor slip risks, some environmental issues such as oily surfaces also increase the potential slip hazards.
Entrance steps and stairs can be quite a dangerous place in wet and icy conditions. GripClad GRP Stair Tread Covers and Nosings can minimise the slip hazard in the high footfall areas. Our stair tread covers and nosings have a PTV test reading of 76 when dry and wet. To put this into context a high slip risk is 0-24, moderate slip risk is 25-35 and a low slip risk is 36+.
Ramps and walkways can also become a slip hazard when icy or wet. Reduce the risk with GripClad GRP panels and sheets. They are extremely durable and designed specifically for surfaces with a high footfall. Our standard sheeting has a PTV test reading of 71 dry and 63 wet and our heavy-duty sheeting has a reading of 76 dry and 70 wet.
Slips and Trips can be easily prevented with simple, long term and reliable products. These sheets can be cut to your desired size.
Sometimes uneven ground can be the cause of a slip, trip or fall. We helped solve this problem at Brecon Beacon’s National Park with GRP Mini-mesh Grating. The advantage of GripClad GRP mini mesh is that its integral strength allows you to design in an overhang. The mesh structure also allows light in underneath causing vegetation to grow back.
