GRP Mini Mesh for Marinas
Thanks to its small square holes, at just 12mmx12mm, GRP Mini Mesh is perfectly suited for public-facing and trade-facing applications such as pontoons at marinas.
At marinas, where there is a high risk of sea spray, as well as access for tradespeople, members of the public and seafarers, Mini Mesh Grating ensures good drainage, while preventing small items falling into the sea below, or sharp objects puncturing the floating pontoons. It’s also more comfortable to walk on, is suitable for all footwear, and is also comfortable for pushing wheels on, such as pushchairs, wheelchair access, pallets and trucks.
Because of the size of the holes within Mini Mesh Grating, it’s perfect for ensuring customers and tradespeople have a safe, anti-slip access route to a variety of areas.

Mini Mesh Grating for External Walkways
In order to prevent slips, trips and falls on canal footbridges and other outdoor walkways, councils and water authorities are starting to use GRP Mini Mesh grating from GripClad to rebuild footbridges that are made of steel or timber.
When compared to traditional timber bridges, GRP Mini Mesh has a greater service life, is resistant to the corrosion and rot that wood eventually gets, and most importantly, is slip resistant in any weather. Our GRP products are all tested to BS 7976-2:2002 and have an ‘Excellent’ pass.

Why GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic)?
GRP is a composite made of resin-soaked fibreglass strands placed in both vertical and horizontal patterns. This bidirectional approach means that GRP is stronger than metal, while remaining lighter and more durable.
During the process, aluminium oxide aggregate surface is added, which is an anti-slip grit, again creating a product that is safe for use, strong and anti-slip by manufacture, not as an afterthought.
Case Study
National Park Safety
At a popular walking route in a national park, GripClad was asked to supply a Mini Mesh solution that could not only create a safe access route but ensure the longevity of the area.
Rather than using timber, the area warden opted for GRP, as they knew this would last longer and the mesh structure let light through, allowing for the vegetation underneath to grow back.
