Stay ‘slip’ safe in the winter

It doesn’t take a scientist to work out that as the Winter season draws in it brings with it an increased risk of slip and trip accidents. That smooth surface that may be overlooked throughout the year can become an ice rink and an accident just waiting to happen. Protect employees, customers, and yourselves by assessing the risks at your premises.

Grim’s Dyke Golf Club are keeping their grounds safe this winter and beyond!

Here’s what Paul Doran of Grim’s Dyke golf club thought about their recent installation of our anti-slip product:

“At Grim’s Dyke golf club we had a number of sleeper-based steps leading to tees that had little or no safety features to help prevent golfers from slipping in adverse weather conditions. Historically several different materials had been used such as astro turf carpets, paints, and rival “non-slip” products, these all required a lot of maintenance to keep clean and usable and in time inevitably needed to be replaced proving time consuming and costly.

After exhausting all our options, we even considered removing some steps, but this was obviously not a viable option. I then heard about GripClad and the fact that over 800 golf clubs in the UK and Europe had been using their anti-slip safety tread product. Upon contacting GripClad I found the customer service to be second to none, helpful, friendly, and extremely informative.

One of the many positives of the GripClad anti-slip safety tread product is the ease of use. With the sizes we require cut to order we know that our purchase will be the right fit every time. They can be installed with a few screws or the use of an adhesive all supplied by GripClad at a more than reasonable price. Each piece literally takes a few minutes to fit and a tidy professional finish is produced consistently without exception.

The results that we have achieved across the course have been fantastic. This is such a low maintenance product because it doesn’t crack or split that, and once it’s installed you can just forget about it. They don’t need replacing and can even outlive the timber they are used on, we have in the past removed the sheet from old sleepers and put them onto replacement steps, making this a one-time investment.”
